Warp, the terminal-turned-agentic development environment (ADE) used by at least 800,000 developers, disclosed that an intrusion targeting a third-party vendor in its infrastructure exposed AI agent decision logs and user telemetry data, potentially impacting roughly 1% of its user base, according to BleepingComputer.
Warp founder and CEO Zach Lloyd stated that the company discovered the narrow-banded exploitation on Friday, detected the operation within hours, remediated the vulnerability with the vendor, notified impacted users and law enforcement authorities, and engaged cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike to assist with the investigation.
Attack Powered by an ‘Agent Swarm’ Following OpenCode Incident
According to BleepingComputer, analysis of the intrusion indicates the attack was powered by “an agent swarm” employing a sophisticated penetration and privilege-escalation technique. While Warp confirmed that agent traces and telemetry data were potentially exposed, the company did not specify whether prompts, source code, or credentials were included in the accessed logs.
The disclosure follows a separate breach last week at AI coding platform OpenCode, where exposed external provider API keys affected roughly 1.4% of users and resulted in unauthorized charges of up to $1,700.
