Bay Area — Cooley launches GO Public, AI product built on ChatGPT for IPO work

Global law firm Cooley LLP announced the launch of GO Public on Friday, unveiling a proprietary artificial intelligence product built on ChatGPT Work designed to accelerate initial public offering preparation for high-growth enterprises. Developed in collaboration with OpenAI in San Francisco and Palo Alto, the specialized system supports a capital markets practice that advised on 180 corporate deals globally in 2025 totaling more than $51.5 billion in transaction volume. Firm executives and legal engineering directors detailed the platform architecture from Cooley's Embarcadero Center offices in San Francisco.

Rather than following the traditional legal practice of manually adapting a single comparable company's registration statement precedent, GO Public begins by synthesizing a client's proprietary internal documentation, relevant public regulatory sources, and a curated library of market precedents. The system's agentic harness systematically analyzes complex corporate disclosures to generate tailored drafting foundations so senior attorneys can review, refine, and validate the legal work. David Wang explained that with GO Public and the agentic harness built using OpenAI's technology, the firm brought decades of capital markets expertise forward into the artificial intelligence era.

Capital markets partner Dave Peinsipp emphasized the strategic benefits for emerging technology and biotechnology companies preparing to list on public exchanges across the Bay Area. Peinsipp noted that GO Public enables legal teams to move through intensive regulatory registration preparation faster so lawyers and executive management boards can spend more time on the high-stakes strategic decisions that shape the transaction. Chief financial officers in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Ramon welcomed tools that compress S-1 drafting timelines.

Corporate governance committees and securities compliance officials observed that structured agentic workflows enhance disclosure consistency while preserving strict attorney-client privilege. A regional bar association committee specialist pointed out that keeping seasoned capital markets attorneys in the validation loop satisfies federal securities regulatory standards while eliminating hundreds of hours of repetitive document formatting. Venture capital boards across Silicon Valley and the East Bay expect public listing activity to expand over the coming quarters.

Technology executives, general counsels, and institutional investors can learn more about Cooley's capital markets practice and digital legal resources online at cooley.com or cooleygo.com. The firm's San Francisco and Palo Alto corporate departments will host private executive briefings on public readiness and AI-assisted regulatory drafting throughout November. Direct inquiries regarding IPO readiness assessments or corporate governance programs may be directed to Cooley's San Francisco office at (415) 693-2000.
