Enterprise cloud providers, foundation model labs, and consumer hardware startups unveiled a broad slate of infrastructure acquisitions, multimodal model upgrades, and media integrations on Thursday.

Dropbox Acquires Tigris Data for $350 Million to Build DBX Agent Cloud

Dropbox agreed to acquire cloud storage startup Tigris Data for $350 million, with the transaction slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Tigris Data, which raised a $25 million Series A round last year, operates a globally distributed, S3-compatible object storage platform engineered specifically for artificial intelligence workloads and autonomous software agents.

Dropbox plans to fold Tigris Data's architecture into a new infrastructure platform called DBX Agent Cloud, giving developers and enterprise AI agents low-latency object storage without egress fees across more than 70,000 teams already using Dropbox's AI products.

Google Releases Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash With 15-Second Video and 30% Lower Pricing

In multimodal generation, Google product manager Anish Nangia announced that Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash is now generally available for developers via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. The release expands maximum native video generation length to 15-second clips—up from 10 seconds in the prior preview—and allows developers to specify clip durations from 3 to 15 seconds in 1-second increments.

Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash supports multi-turn conversational video editing, enabling users to modify scenes, camera angles, and lighting across iterative prompts while embedding invisible SynthID watermarks into every generated frame. Alongside general availability, Google reduced pricing by 30% to $0.07 per second for 720p video generation.

Box Integrates Nvidia Nemotron Embed and GeForce NOW Adds DLSS 5

Enterprise content management platform Box partnered with Nvidia to integrate the Nemotron Embed model into Box Content Retrieval for Enterprise Advance customers beginning early next year. Box CEO Aaron Levie said the multimodal retrieval upgrade will help enterprise agents parse dense financial tables, slide decks, and engineering diagrams. Nvidia Vice President of Enterprise AI Kari Briski noted that Nemotron Embed is projected to deliver 4x faster query responses, 20% fewer errors, and 90% fewer tokens than standard retrieval pipelines.

Within Nvidia's open-model ecosystem, Toronto-based senior product research engineer Chris Alexiuk—known across developer communities as "Joe Nemotron" and on YouTube as "llm_wizard"—has championed open-weight adoption of the NVIDIA Nemotron family, including Nemotron 3.5 Lightning and Nemotron Ultra, through live coding tutorials and enterprise fine-tuning workshops.

On the consumer cloud side, NVIDIA upgraded Hogwarts Legacy on GeForce NOW with DLSS 5 and 3D-Guided Neural Rendering running on GeForce RTX 5080-class cloud servers. The November GeForce NOW lineup adds 24 games to the cloud catalog, led by World of Warcraft: Forever—which launched Nov. 4 with support for 100 of the top CurseForge add-ons and an in-game reward claimable through Nov. 11—alongside The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park and Anno 117: Pax Romana – Dawn of the Delta.

Aina Launches $399 Smart AI Ring as SoundCloud and Grimes Expand AI Media

Seeking to avoid the pitfalls that tripped up earlier wearable AI gadgets, hardware startup Aina introduced a $399 smart "AI ring" ($499 retail after the early-bird window) scheduled to begin shipping in January 2027. Founded by CEO Apoorv Shankar and backed by $5.5 million in seed funding raised in July, Aina equips the ring with a miniature display screen, a thumb-operated mini joystick, a directional microphone, and a speaker so users can trigger voice and visual workflows discreetly from their finger.

In digital audio and film, SoundCloud partnered with ElevenLabs to let creators publish AI-generated tracks directly from the ElevenMusic platform to SoundCloud. Every uploaded track carries a mandatory AI-generated disclosure label, and SoundCloud Artist Pro subscribers receive 3 months of free access to ElevenMusic Pro. Meanwhile, musician Grimes lent her likeness and vocal performance to Gods Don't Give Gifts, an AI-generated sci-fi anthology film directed by Jack London (known as Gossip Goblin) and produced by studio Fable for release on Dec. 4, 2026, even as she continues production on her upcoming album Psy Opera.

In public education, Google notified school districts that it will restrict standard search access unless administrators opt into Gemini AI Workspace controls. TheSan Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) confirmed it is drafting a districtwide artificial intelligence and technology policy to present to the Board of Education in March, drawing scrutiny from San Francisco Education Alliance co-founder Brandee Marckmann over student data governance and classroom screen reliance.
